As channel changing and internet surfing are gaining in popularity, our population as a whole is gaining weight.
More than half of American adults are clinically obese, and three out of four children under the age of ten already exhibit atleast one major risk factor for heart disease.
Bonnie Kaye takes you Inside Fitness to show you how to get your kids on the fitness track.

These kids are getting fit, and they don't even know it.
Even in this age of television and high-tech computer games, if given the opportunity, kids still like to be active.

"Fit kids are more likely to become fit adults. The key is to start'em young, and make it fun."

In this youth program at the Denver Athletic Club, kids get together to play a variety of sports activities each weekend.

Although they may think it's all fun and games, this relay is also helping them develop teamwork, coordination, and aerobic endurance
While the kids are playing downstairs, the parents can workout upstairs, making it a family affair.

Hopefully, that's true, and these kids will choose a more active lifestyle that will continue into adulthood.

Another way to help your kids get into fitness is by setting an example, and doing activities together as a family on the weekends. And always check with your doctor if you have any questions about what fitness activities are right for your children.
