Bonnie Kaye/Stand-up
Hi, I’m Bonnie Kaye. Strength training is a hot workout trend
these days, and for good reason. It’s key to burning fat, and preventing
osteoperosis.

Whether lifting barbells in groups to the beat of the music, or weight
training alone.
Building muscle is one of the best ways to burn fat.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
sot August Casseus:
The more strength training is involved, the more muscle you’ll build.
The more muscle you build, the more calories you’re going to burn.
The more calories you burn, the less fat you’re going to have.

That’s because every pound of muscle on your body burns about 50 calories
a day. Every pound of fat, only about 3 calories. So the more lean
muscle mass you have, the more calories you’re burning all the time, even
while you sleep.

Two basic exercises for shaping up your lower body.
First, the leg extension, great for toning those quadriceps in the
thighs.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
bktrack 4
Next, the inverted leg press, which works your glutes, hamstrings,
and quadriceps all at the same time.

For the upper body: single alternating curls.
Bicep Curls, alternating one dumbell at a time, then curling both
arms at the same time.
Next, tone up any excess fat on the back of the upper arms with tricep
kickbacks, squeezing the tricep as you push upward against gravity.

Strength training can help reshape your body and turn it into a more
efficient fat-burning machine.

TAG Bonnie recommends a total fitness program of aerobics
combined with strength training for a good level of overall conditioning
before you begin your sport. And as always, consult your physician before
beginning any type of exercise program. |
