Cheryl Kramer gets into fitness.

Hi, I’m Bonnie Kaye. Today we invite you to join us on one woman’s journey to fitness. Part one of Cheryl Kramer’s fitness make-over.

Cheryl Kramer is the beauty and fashion editor for Fitness Magazine. She’s also about 30 pounds overweight.

I think I was working a lot of late nights, not sleeping very much, eating straight from the vending machine, I mean, three meals a day, quarter, quarter, quarter. It was not a good thing,
Sot Cheryl Kramer                                                                                                             My exercise program basically consisted of smacking the snooze button, repeatedly, that motion, hailing a taxi. I mean, there was really not much going on in terms of my actual exercise regimen.

I got tired of covering up and my clothes not fitting well anymore, so I finally said, let’s do it.

Personal trainer Suzanne Countryman took Cheryl’s measurements, calculated her body fat, and assessed her flexibility, strength and cardiovascular fitness.

She’s meeting with me three times a week we’re doing a combination of cardiovascular work and strength training. Upper and lower body strength training. I try to keep the program, with her heart rate as high as I can throughout the program so I don’t give her a lot of rest in between so we move around a lot from exercise to exercise with bursts on the cardiovascular machines, sort of an interval training style is what I’ve been using.

Next time we’ll meet Cheryl’s nutritionist. Meantime, Cheryl is working out five days a week and is making great strides toward her goals under the watchful lens of our cameras—a brave woman, indeed. For Fitness Magazine, I’m Bonnie Kaye.
